Wildling Wilderness Spirit Award: Santa Barbara Dolphin Fountain Sculptor Bud Bottoms

The Wildling Museum is proud to bestow its Wilderness Spirit Award on renowned Santa Barbara artist, sculptor and author James 'Bud' Bottoms at a special event on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Wildling Museum in Solvang.
Guest of honor, Bud Bottoms, will be in attendance to receive the award and will also bring samples of his sculpture and tools of the trade. Bottoms is locally known for the Santa Barbara Dolphin Fountain at the foot of the iconic Stearns Wharf, and he also has monuments and sculptures installed around the world. He has received numerous awards during his career and is a passionate advocate for oceans.
In addition to the awards presentation, the Wildling will feature a silent auction of fifteen works of art. To date donations to the auction include a framed print by renowned Florida swamps photographer Clyde Butcher, a signed Ray Strong print, an original abstract painting by Jac Kephart called “Ironclad Mtn. Mine” valued at $4500, a signed lithograph by famed wildlife artist Robert Bateman, and a large original painting by famed marine artist Wyland valued at over $15,000. The Museum is still accepting donations of art for their auction. Please call Stacey at 805-686-8216 if you have an artwork you would be interested in donating to their auction.
Montecito Bank and Trust and Tierra Alta Vineyards are co-sponsoring a special VIP reception for sponsors and VIP ticket holders with champagne donated by Solvang’s Wandering Dog Wine Bar. Famed local theater company PCPA will provide a delightful musical interlude and Charles Stauffer will provide jazz piano throughout the evening. Guests will enjoy a tropical menu by Louise’s Kitchen Table and local wines from Bodega del Solar and Lucky Dogg Winery.
