From Wednesday, March 14 through Sunday, March 18, 2012, visitors from near and far as well as local residents are invited to savor the 20th annual Taste of Solvang presented by the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau with sponsorship support from the Santa Ynez Valley Hotel Association. Enjoy locally grown foods, wines, beers and diverse cuisine and discover the rich cultural and culinary heritage of the area.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary, the 2012 Taste of Solvang has expanded into five days of events. Here is the complete delicious schedule:

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

2:00-6:00pm: Solvang Village Farmers Market (First Street between Mission & Copenhagen Drive); find farm-to-you fresh fruit, veggies, flowers, meats, cheeses, breads and savories from around the Central Coast.

**New! Farmers Market Chef Walk & Talk: Meet local Chefs at the corner of First Street and Copenhagen Drive for a personalized tour as they source for ingredients and dish up tips on farm fresh inspiration. RSVPs required by registering at www.SolvangUSA.com (limited to 10 attendees per chef).

2:30pm: Chef David Cecchini, Cecco Ristorante (Walk, Talk, followed by Cooking Demonstration, Free).

3:00pm : Master Chef Norbert Schulz, Mirabelle Restaurant (Walk, Talk & Culinary Cooking Class, plus 3- course gourmet dinner paired with wines; $120 per person; call Chef directly to reserve: 805-688-1703)

4:00pm: Chef Brian Champlin, Succulent Café (Walk & Talk, Free).

**New! 6:00 pm: Farmer’s Market Winemaker Dinner

Succulent Café Chef/Owners Brian Champlin & Cynthia Miranda-Champlin will select fresh fruits & vegetables to create an amazing infusion of flavors and combinations paired with the artisanal blends of Consilience & Tre Anelli wines. Winemaker Brett Escalera will take personally guide guests through wine making journey while tasting five of his vintages paired with 5 gourmet food courses. $95 per person, reservations required, limited seating. Dessert participants include: Ingeborg’s Danish Chocolates, La Bella Rosa, Nielsen's Market, Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery and Solvang Bakery and more. Dessert-style wines will be offered by Lions Peak Vineyard & Winery, Presidio Winery and the Wandering Dog Wine Bar. Live jazz music by the Alan Satchwell Quartet will accompany the sweets.
