Called “Building a Painting,” the workshop will lead students, six years old through adult, from the stage of preparatory drawings and panel preparation, through completion of one or more paintings in acrylics. The class, limited to 20, will meet daily, 10 a.m. to noon, in the Museum’s garden.
The Wildling Art Museum specializes in programs for all ages with the expectation that children, parents, and grandparents enjoy learning something new together. The “Building a Painting” workshop will be team-taught by painters who, like Melinda Weymouth the lead teacher, studied with Ray Strong and can pass on his theories and inspiration.
The per person fee, which includes all materials and an instruction booklet written by Ray Strong with John Iwerks, is $125.00 (Museum members, $110.00). A discount will be offered to families that enroll three or more members.
Pre-registration is required. To register, send a check to “Building A Painting,” WAM, P.O. Box 907, Los Olivos, CA 93441 or call the Museum, 688-1082, for credit card charges. Information is also posted on the Museum’s website: www.wildlingmuseum.org.
